Following Vice-President Tajani's successful Mission for Growth to Colombia and Mexico last year, and as a concrete follow-up to this Mission, Director-General Daniel Calleja Crespo of Enterprise and Industry Directorate-General will lead a technical mission to Mexico and to Colombia with a European business delegation of around 30 entrepreneurs between 15 and 19 April 2013 in order to discuss with Mexican and Colombian politicians and entrepreneurs how to foster our industrial cooperation.
As for our previous Missions, these visits are intended to:
The presence of individual CEOs/entrepreneurs interested in cooperation with Mexico and Colombia in the delegation will be the most important key factor for the success of this Mission for Growth. VP Tajani has invited the leading EU business organisations (Business Europe, UEAPME and Eurochambres) to propose entrepreneurs, members of these organisations, as potential candidates for the Missions.
The main industrial sectors targeted during these visits are green economy, biotechnology, key enabling technologies, mining, construction and tourism.
All Enterprise Europe Network partners are kindly asked to advertise this Mission for Growth among their clients and to recruit interested SMEs as participants. Ideally, expressions of interest should be received during the course of January, although later applications may be considered.
Eligibility criteria for participants in the Mission for Growth:
* High level representative of a European company
* Dynamic and innovative enterprises
* Strong international experiences and/or strong interest in the Mexican and/or Columbian markets
A detailed agenda for the company delegation's activities will be made available in due course.
